Curd Girl Food Cart
Various Locations during warmer months, Madison WI
Date of Curd Tasting: 03SEP2013
To set the scene: Cheezaholic and HappySchnapps are food cart crazies. Chz even has a food cart app on her phone, just in case she might find herself in Portland, OR. When we learned about a Chz Curd Food Cart, it was as if our love child had just been born. We were overcome with joy and excitement. We first read about Curd Girl here, and then began tracking her movements via the Let’s Eat Out Madison food cart group. It took us all summer to catch up with her, but finally our chz curd food cart destiny was at hand.
Fried WI Chz Curdz. $6.
1 Sauce included, extras $1: Ranch, Siracha Honey, Strawberry Rhubarb.
We immediately began to interrogate the Curd Girl through the screen as we watched her work on our curdz. The curdz came from Maple Leaf Cheese, in Monroe, WI (The Swiss Cheese Capital of the USA), which is where the Curd Girl hails from. She graciously allowed us to photograph her for our blog.
It was extremely difficult to wait for the obligatory curd photo shoot. The aroma was incredibly enticing. Cheezaholic had to swat HappySchnapps’ hand away. Twice. Gorgeous curdz. Juicy. Sweet. Salty. Yummy.
Grzy fingertips as anticipated, expected and required. Curdz pretty much went straight from the frier to our mouths, so not much time to dwell on the amount of glisten. We could find no faults.
Curdz were battered and fried to order, as we watched. Crunchy breading, nice and crispy brown bits. Perfection.
A thick, slightly dilly homemade ranch. Rather irrelevant as the curdz did not need it.
$6 for a smaller order than you would find at a restaurant. Perfect size for a food cart, and appropriately priced.
It was unanimous. No question. The best curdz that we have had in Madison, hands down. The numbers don’t lie. The Curd Girl knows curdz. After a difficult summer in the life of the Chz-n-Schnapps family, this experience gave us hope for a bright future. We began to smile once again, and continue to do so every time we think of the Curd Girl. The memory of her chzy little masterpieces of love will get us through the long, cold WI winter. C’mon summer!!!!!!
